Which Vehicle Will You Choose?

Jeep

Jeep rentals are available for guided tours or to drive. Mainly for street driving and not off roading, unless driven by a guide, or it is gravel or dirt road. Made to handle the hills and curves of the Smoky Mountains well, up to 5 passengers.

UTV

Utility Task Vehicles, also known as Side by Sides, controlled with steering. Available for rent for street riding, or guided trail tours. 2-4 passengers. Most are street legal vehicles are made for driving roads

40 mph and under.

Slingshot

This is a 3-wheeled, open air, sport roadster that sits very low to the ground. A sort of cross between a car and motorcycle. Helmets are worn, but it is driven similar to a car. Can be

2-4 passengers, but most are 2 passengers.

ATV

All terrain vehicles, also known as 4-wheelers, that are made for riding off the highways, and mainly on dirt trails. ATVs are controlled with the handle bars, with many rentals available and are usually guided tours.

1-2 passengers.

How much do UTVs cost to rent?

You can expect to pay about $50-80 per hour, depending on how many hours or days you have it. The longer you have it, the more you will likely save on a per hour basis. Pricing if pretty competitive in this area, as there are several options for rentals.

How much does it cost to rent a Slingshot or Vanderhall?

You can expect to pay about $50-80 per hour, depending on how many hours or days you have it. The longer you have it, the more you will likely save on a per hour basis.

How much does it cost to rent a Jeep or take a Jeep tour?

For a guided Jeep tour through the Smoky Mountains, you can expect to pay about $57-65 for kids and $65-74 for adults. Private tours run about $400-450

To rent and drive your own jeep, you can expect to pay about $200-300 per day.

Jeep off-roading tours usually start around $300 per ride with 1-6 people.

How much does it cost to rent an ATV?
Depending on the various tours offered and the number of riders per ATV, it can range around $65-85 for kids age 12-15, and $100 - $220 for 16 and up. The larger ATVs will carry multiple riders, which will be at the top of the price range.

What do I need to rent one of these recreational vehicles?

You will need:

Valid driver license
Proof of having your own current auto insurance
A credit card

Some companies require deposits & will have you buy their insurance add-on, too. Usually, insurance is a small extra fee, not expensive, and very worth it.

Age requirements vary by company:

Must be at least 21 for most Jeeps, Slingshots and Vanderhall and some UTV rentals
18 year olds may be able to rent a UTVs at some places
Some companies require UTV drivers to be 25 years old, see details about companies below
12 and over will usually be able to ride ATVs, but younger kids will need to be accompanied by an adult
Call ahead for details

Can I bring my pet?

Some companies allow pets in their rental vehicles, and some do not. Call ahead to be sure.

Some Extra Tips & Info

BE AWARE - Many places have a no money back at all or a 72-hour cancellation policy. You may not get a refund. Be sure you are clear on what happens if you need to cancel.
Prices could be affected by seasonality
You will be expected to return the vehicle (except ATVs) with a full tank of gas.
Insurance
You will need to bring your own child safety seats
If helmets are required, the company should provide them
