I'm happy to answer ALL these questions & more!
This Winter Wonderland Theme Park and Ski Area was founded in 1962, and most of us
have known it as "Ober Gatlinburg" for all these years.
In 2022, when it was bought by some Sevier County natives;
one of whom is the founder of Ole Smoky Moonshine. They officially changed the name to
"Ober Mountain Adventure Park & Ski Area"
We are all excited for what is to come for Ober!

The location of Ober Mountain has not changed and is on the top of Mount Harrison and can be accessed by following Ski Mountain Road, about 3 miles up.

It is also only 3 miles from the downtown Gatlinburg Parkway!

Ober was in need of some new life!

Do you have to ride the tram to get to Ober Mountain?

No! In fact, this is a great thing about Ober. If you are not a fan of heights, or just want to have your car with you, and not wait for the tram, this is a good bet!

Yes, you will pay for parking, but it's less than the tram ride ticket.
There is also one other consideration: weather. During heavy snow and icy rain you will want a 4WD or chains to get to the top of Ski Mountain Road, where Ober is located. But Ober is now a year round attraction, so driving up is a great option.
See my video of what that drive looks like

What can you do at Ober Mountain?
Ober used to be known for mainly winter sports and winter activities, but it is now a year-round theme park.

Ober offers a wristband that allows you to do "most" everything in the park. There will still be some add on activities like snow tubing.

According to Ober's website:
"Wristbands DO NOT include Snow Tubing, Snow Sports at Ober or any off-site activities such as Whitewater Rafting and Ziplining."

How much time do people spend at Ober?
Most people will spend a half to a full day at Ober.
It depends on how many activities you want to participate in! It can also depend on crowds; holidays and weekends are the most crowded and may have longer lines for waiting.

If you'd like to join in on a lot of activities, plan for most of your day to be there!
