1.) Cherokee Grill & Steakhouse
1002 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-4287
This is the first of the Top 3 because it CONSISTENTLY gets BEST food safety inspection scores and rave reviews for food, atmosphere, and customer satisfaction. Opened in 1975, it's been a favorite of locals and visitors ever since. It sits right across from the Ober Gatlinburg entrance on the Gatlinburg Parkway.
Beautiful upscale lodge look with authentic Cherokee artifacts that honors this area's native heritage.

You can also get small batch and seasonal micro-brews by Smoky Mountain Breweries.

2.) The Appalachian
133 Bruce St., Sevierville, TN
This unique, upscale, romantic restaurant in Downtown Sevierville, resources their food locally and fresh! It's upscale but come casual if you like!

This is a Southern Appalachian experience, with farm to table food. It has gotten high marks from both locals and visitors since it opened in 2021.
Entrees can change due to what is fresh and available, but you may see things on the menu like hanger steak, duck breast, pork tenderloin, fresh ramps, fried chicken skins, buffalo frog legs, shrimp and grits, rainbow trout and more.

3.) Local Goat
2167 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 865-366-3035
Local Goat is 3 in the Top 3 on my list because ever since it opened in 2016, it has been a local's and visitor's favorite, while scoring consistently high on food safety inspections.
​
The Local Goat describes themselves as a "scratch kitchen specializing in locally sourced and sustainable foods." It's a more casual atmosphere with a full bar and TVs in different areas. While it's not a typical steakhouse, you can get a beautiful steak dinner here.
​
You can also get a full selection of drinks at the Billy Goat Tavern, from craft beer, cocktails, wine, bourbon, tequila, you name it.

4.) Alamo Steakhouse
705 East Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-9998
The Alamo is named in honor of the 2,000 Tennessee men who volunteered and fought bravely at the Alamo in Texas. This place is another local favorite, along with high food safety scores with the Gatlinburg location ranking in the top 10 list of all steak restaurants in the Gatlinburg area. (there is another great location in Pigeon Forge)

The beloved original restaurant was burned to the ground during the infamous 2016 wildfires, but happily, it has since been rebuilt, closely to its original design. The Alamo sits on a rippling creek, and the atmosphere is casual-upscale, southwest, romantic.

Wine, Liquor, & beer are also served.

5.) Texas Roadhouse

This chain of rustic Texas themed steakhouses was started in 1993 and have branched out due to popularity. The Pigeon Forge location makes the list with high food safety inspections and excellent customer satisfaction. Casual family atmosphere with beer and cocktails available for order.

6.) The Peddler
820 River Rd, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-5794
A historic home converted into a restaurant sits on The Little Pigeon River, just around the corner from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Casual upscale relaxed atmosphere. Serves hand cut steaks and is always the place the locals will send you.

Serves a variety of wines and has an in-house bar.

This Brazilian steakhouse restaurant in Pigeon Forge, is owned by Tennessee locals. It lands on top because of the rave reviews, customer satisfaction.

Gaucho Urbano is a modern, upscale restaurant with fresh, authentic Brazilian influences. You are given a token to use the green or red side to indicate to your chef if you need service.
